Tidale

Our use of AI

Every Tidale game is designed, playtested and balanced by people. The rules, the mechanics and, above all, the fun come from countless hours around the table with real players. Fun is not something a machine understands.

We occasionally use AI tools to assist with writing and translation. This content is always reviewed and checked by a human proofreader before publication.

For illustrations and graphic design, we prefer working with artists and designers. As an independent publisher with limited budgets, we have occasionally used AI-generated assets when commissioning professional work was not possible. These are never published as-is: we rework and correct them extensively by hand. Whenever we work with independent artists, their credited artwork is original work, created by them.

Three cards shown at each stage of the process: first idea, artist's sketch, and final card.
From first idea to sketch to final card: our typical process when working with an artist.

We believe in being transparent about how our games are made, and we aim to rely on human creativity and craftsmanship because it's what we love doing and we think it leads to better games.
